We are looking for a Baker to join our team.
Requirements:
A New Zealand Register Level 4 qualification (overseas qualifications must be comparable to the New Zealand standard) OR
At least 3 years of relevant work experience, which may substitute for the qualification.
Job Description:
Inspect the cleanliness of equipment and the operational condition of the premises prior to production to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Verify the quality of raw materials and accurately weigh ingredients.
Perform dough and pastry preparation tasks, including kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing, and shaping.
Prepare pastry fillings as required.
Monitor oven temperatures and product appearance to determine optimal baking times.
Oversee the processes of forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning, and cooling batches of bread, rolls, and pastry products.
Glaze buns and pastries, and decorate cakes with cream and icing as needed.
Operate machinery to roll and mould dough, as well as cut biscuits.
Empty, clean, and grease baking trays, tins, and other cooking equipment.
Other Details:
This is a full-time, permanent position.
Wage: $29.80 per hour, paid weekly.
Holiday pay and sick leave will be provided according to New Zealand law.
You will be working at 71 Victoria Street, Christchurch Central, Christchurch 8013, New Zealand.
Our opening hours are as follows:
Monday to Wednesday: 7 am – 3 pm
Thursday to Saturday: 7 am – 3 pm and 5:30 pm – late
Sunday: 9 am – 3 pm
You will work according to a roster, 5–6 days per week, with a guarantee of 30 hours (up to a maximum of 48 hours).
