Your Title: Software EngineerJob Location: Christchurch, NZOur Department: Civil Construction Field Systems - Cloud SoftwarePositions Available: 3 (1 x early career, 1 x professional level, 1 x senior)Are you a passionate Backend Software Engineer/Developer eager to design, analyze, and program cutting-edge software in a collaborative environment?What You Will DoAs a Backend Software Engineer within CCFS - Cloud Software at Trimble, your software engineering expertise will contribute to developing, maintaining, and quality control of a broad range of Civil Construction applications and capabilities.You will work on applications ranging from construction design and execution to construction and fleet management.
Using the latest tools and technologies, you will engineer robust and resilient web-based applications based on the needs of our customers.This Will Include The FollowingAnalyse, design, program, debug, and modify web-based software applicationsUsing current programming language and technologies, write code, complete programming, and perform testing and debugging of applicationsDocument new and existing software features and support guidesResponsible for the full software development lifecycle, including new product releases, upgrades, functional enhancements, defect resolution, and performance improvementsWork with QA and Operations to test and deploy changes to a product set up for continuous deploymentWork with product managers and other stakeholders to ensure that our software is fit for purposeBuild scalable and sustainable solutions, utilising engineering best practices in an agile, team-oriented, and collaborative environment.What Skills And Experience You Should BringBachelor of Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or relevant experienceDemonstrable professional experience as a backend software engineer relevant to your levelStrong understanding and experience with C# .Net preferredExperience with Event Based systems using technologies such as Kafka or EventStoreDB is desirableExperience with cloud-hosted software applications, ideally with Microsoft AzureExperience maintaining a high bar for code quality, testing, and automation while finding opportunities to continuously make improvementsAbility to write business and technical specification documents that convey complex analysis and solutions clearly and conciselyDemonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex business processes and systemsHave a DevOps mindset, promoting cloud-oriented solutions while implementing and supporting monitoring, alerting, CI/CD pipelines as well as the team's Cloud infrastructure.About Your LocationOur office in Christchurch, New Zealand (handily located on the Little River Link Cycleway), is the engineering center in our region and home to over 380 staff, offering free parking, an onsite fully featured gym, changing rooms & showers, table tennis, an active social club, and a great team environment where people love working with leading technology solutions.Being located in the office provides opportunities to learn from and collaborate with many like-minded individuals from across the company.
