At 4 years old, tamariki are in a unique and critical stage of life.
These cheeky, curious, and clever little souls provide our B4 School Nurses with endless joy, entertainment, and wonder.
We have a permanent part-time role (3 days per week: Wednesday - Friday 8.30 - 4.30) based at our Cannons Creek hub but working throughout Wellington.
In our team, we hold firm to the philosophy that our people are our biggest asset, and so you will always be nurtured and cared for like the treasure you are!
We have the privilege of spending our days conducting health and development checks in a variety of settings including homes, clinics, early childhood centres, and other community hubs.
If you are passionate about holistic health, this is a great opportunity for you to engage with children and assess their overall development including their hearing, speech, as well as mental and social health to ensure they are progressing and are well prepared to start school or making referrals for those who might need some extra attention.
With the aid of a dedicated administration team to manage booking and rescheduling appointments, you'll be settled in to your day in clinic and visited by tamariki and their whanau.
If you're out home visiting, collect your car from our hub and storm ahead with your day (with an inbuilt travel allowance so you're paid from the moment you're out in your Plunket car!).
At the end of the day, you'll drop your car off and leave your paperwork ready to embrace the life part of work-life balance!
Annual salaries for our Nurses are between $64,924 - $92,982, depending on experience. We will support you to become a specialist in 4-year-old development and expand your assessment skills.
Our onboarding and preceptorship programme is often commended by our new starters - so we are open to hearing from new graduates alike and established Nurses, who have the energy, care, and emotional intelligence needed for engaging with tamariki at this stage of life.
The uniqueness of the whanau/aiga/fanau that we connect with is what makes our role interesting.
You will be flexible in your approach, but always with a listening ear, manakitanga, ngakau, and the ability to provide culturally safe care.
