About the role | He korero whakamarama mo tenei turangaYou will be part of a school counselling / wellbeing service, working with school leadership teams, children and whanau to understand and support the wellbeing needs of the akonga/learners at the school and within their whanau.
You will be experienced at working with tamariki, whanau and local communities and will have a strong commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi.This is a permanent part-time position based in Napier for 64 hours per fortnight.
School terms only.
There may be an additional 2 weeks of call back days throughout the year for team training in school holidays.A Wellbeing Specialist is responsible for the delivery of high-quality professional services based on personalised assessment, individual or group therapy and education in wellbeing for a wide range of psychological and psychosocial issues, consistent with our contract obligations with government agencies, funders and other providers.
As a Wellbeing Specialist you will be responsible for the delivery of services to children, and adults that are clinically safe and responsive to client need.
Your work with clients will be person centred, efficient and innovative.
You will use a range of evidence-based assessment and therapeutic models and work alongside clients and other disciplines to facilitate sustained and enduring change, stabilisation and/or safety for the client.
What you could bring | Nga tohungatanga mo tenei turangaExperience in providing a range of strengths-based counselling modalities appropriate to a range of issues e.g.
