Awarua Cultural Activator Kaiwhakura

Fixed Term Contract (6 months from date of Appointment)
The Cultural Activator role will design, plan and implement cultural activities for Te Runaka o Awarua. This will be executed by:
Facilitation and consultation with whanau, cultural leaders, Te Runaka o Awarua and Te Rau Aroha Marae whanui to establish what is needed
Develop and grow Awarua Runaka cultural capacity and capability in response to consultation
Develop and drive a coordinated calendar of activities and events
Promote Ngai Tahu, Maori culture, Tikanga, te reo to Ngai Tahu Whanui, Maori and the Southland Community
Building relationships across the organisation in support of all duties involved in the position.
Supporting the development of effective communication with whanau.

Ability to communicate effectively with people from a wide range of levels within an organisation
An eye for attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work autonomously using initiative and good judgement
Ability to respond to changes in work priorities
Microsoft Office skills including Microsoft Project, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Advanced computer literacy, communication skills and administrative skills
Must be a New Zealand citizen or hold a class residence visa
