Our space systems business includes our extensive line of satellites and components that have enabled more than 1,700 missions including the James Webb Space Telescope, NASA Psyche Mission, Artemis I, Mars Ingenuity helicopter, and more.Join our pioneering team and launch your career to new heights!As an Avionics Test Engineering Intern based at Rocket Lab's site in Auckland, NZ, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Electron Avionics Development team to play a crucial role in the qualification of several Avionic components on Stage 2 of our Electron vehicle!WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DOWork closely with your mentor and other employees within the department to apply your knowledge and grow your skills both technically and professionally.Work with a fast-paced group of professionals to apply engineering and industry concepts to solve real challenges.Attend frequent 1:1's with mentors and supervisors to facilitate success and learning while providing progress updates.Enjoy tech talks and network with other interns and employees through social and professional events.Conduct vibration and shock testing of avionic components.Work closely alongside team members within avionics, mechanical design, analysis and manufacturing.Transfer information and knowledge of Avionic hardware into product manuals.YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONSMust be enrolled in a bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree program in an engineering, physics or math discipline and have at least one semester of school remaining post internship.Be in good academic standing with a minimum B (3.0) Grade point average or higher.3+ months of relevant applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable).THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVEPursuing a career in Aerospace/Aeronautical/Astronautical Engineering, Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering.Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, power supplies, serial devices and other electronic test equipment.A natural inclination towards tinkering, hands-on experience as a maker even as a hobby.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSAble to work full-time, on-site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning November 2024.When applying please include a detailed cover letter stating what interests you about Rocket Lab and this role in particular.
