Full Job Description:
Integra is looking for an AV Field Engineer to join our growing team. We are looking for people who are excited about technology and looking to work in a team environment.
The AV Field Engineer provides superior service and customer support during installations and site field visits generally within the greater Boston area. You would support Integra's clients directly by assisting with onsite repair, maintenance, and testing of integrated audio/visual systems. Diagnosing errors or technical problems and determining proper solutions. Working with the newest AV distribution devices, the AV Field Engineer must be proficient in working with hardware and software solutions alike from industry leaders such as Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Zoom, Teams, Polycom and the like.
Candidates must have an extensive audio and video background and a proven ability to program and troubleshoot complex audio, video, and control systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair digital audio/visual equipment. Service calls may include issues related to control equipment, projectors, digital AV switchers, DSPs and other audio equipment, microphones, and wall-mounted displays. Services will include device deployment, software installation, testing network connections, troubleshooting services, and repairs. Service requests will be tracked and documented in ticketing software.
Provide on-site technical support for remote programming or remote support engineers.
Reading and following AV drawings, for both equipment configurations and blueprints.
Review and research manufacturer websites/manuals to determine best next steps for resolution of open issues.
Perform software and firmware upgrades as required to correct problems encountered in the field.
Perform preventative maintenance visits to help maintain a stable system environment.
Check functionality of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
Responsible for all service call documentation: service tickets, client follow-up, RMA processing, and checklists pertaining to site visits and preventative maintenance checks.
Maintain a broad knowledge of audio/visual technology, equipment, and/or systems.
Provide on-site support for vendor installation teams.
Interacting with end users in a confident professional manner.
Work with consultants, install teams, and clients to complete final punch lists and close-out documentation.
Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in the installation, service, and maintenance of professional audio-visual systems with at least 1-year experience in AV Field Engineering.
Required Skills:
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Teams Room, Zoom Room, Polycom, Logitech, and Cisco.
Skilled at programming audio DSP solutions from multiple vendors including but not limited to; Biamp, QSC and Extron.
Ability to service and support complex video distribution systems.
Strong working knowledge of networked audio and associated concepts.
Proficient with a computer.
Excellent working knowledge of Windows, Mac IOS, and Android operating systems.
Solid understanding of networks and associated AV networking requirements.
Ability to think and work independently.
Strong client skills and the ability to communicate in a timely and organized manner.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
Driver's license (Required)
AVIXA CTS or CTS-I Certification (Required)
AVIXA CTS-D (Encouraged)
Dante 1 & Dante 2 (Required)
Dante Level 3 (Encouraged)
Maintain certifications in the following areas: Biamp Tesira, Crestron Digital Media
Physical Requirements:
This position does have physical demands. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, crawl under tables, and work behind Audio Visual racks, etc.
