SB European is a small family-owned business in central Auckland, specialising in specific brands of European cars. We are known to our clients for our high standards of quality and our personal commitment to find and offer the best solutions. Our principal area of speciality is in diagnostic and mechanical work on Volkswagen, Audi, and Skoda. On a case-to-case basis, we also extend our specialty and services for other European makes, if we find the problem to be challenging and rewarding. To name a few, other European cars that we have and continue to work on are Porsche, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, BMW.
We are currently implementing our plans for growth and expansion. In line with this, we are looking for an experienced Automotive Technician. The SB European team takes great pride in its work and in protecting the trust that our clients have placed on us. So, the individual who will be joining us must have the knowledge and practical skills of the trade; has the right attributes and professionalism; and prefers working in a small team.
Role Overview A full-time permanent role – or – a minimum of 2-years contract role
Work days: Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm (8.5 hours); 42.5 hours/week
Hourly rate: Between $35 to $40 (Gross $77350 - $88,400 per annum)
SB European shows its appreciation to deserving staff in other monetary means if a bonus is not possible for a particular year
Key Responsibilities Perform accurate diagnostic assessments using electronic tools in a timely manner
Complement diagnostic assessments with the use of natural senses (smell, sight, hearing, touch) and 'think outside the box'
Perform repairs with high standards of quality and safety
Be personable, friendly, and open to negative feedback with a determination to improve
Minimum Requirements Two to five years of work experience in the lightweight automotive industry as a Technician with proven skills – AND on European cars
Specific experience on VW, Audi, and Skoda is an advantage but not essential
Able to demonstrate diagnostic skills and critical thinking skills
Proven competency in computer skills
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Able to confidently explain and demonstrate these attributes during the interview:

Have a valid New Zealand driver's licence with at least 2 years of driving experience
