About Us Reliable NZ Limited was established with the purpose of providing our clients with a range of quality services and excellent customer care. We specialize in cosmetic panel and paint, heavy structural collision repairs and rust treatment.
Role Purpose We are looking for FOUR (4) full-time Automotive Technicians who are skilful, motivated, and reliable to join our team to help us take our business to the next level in automotive mechanical repairs.
This is the key position for the success of our operations through implementing correct diagnostic techniques and repair methods, quality of work and adhering to repair timeframes. You need to be competent, have the right attitude and be a team player with strong work ethics and quality workmanship to be successful in this role.

Your focus will be on ensuring consistent output of mechanical repair jobs that meet expectations of quality, timeframe and number of repair jobs produced.
The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years' experience in fault diagnostics and repairs, thrive in a fast-paced environment, want to learn and enjoy working as part of a successful team.

We Offer

Commencement Date: As soon as possible OR on Work Visa approval by Immigration NZ
Location: South Auckland
Contract Type: Waged, Full Time, Permanent (minimum of 30 hours/week – maximum 60 hours/week)
Work Hours: Morning Shift 6am – 1pm or Afternoon Shift 1pm – 8pm (Monday to Friday)
Wages Details: $30 - 38 per hour

Role Duties In this role you will be responsible for carrying out on daily basis:

Always follow the Standard Operating Procedures – SOP (if applicable)
Understand and ensure repairs meet expectations of quality, timeframe and quantity
Understand and meet role's daily targets and performance expectations
Perform repairs in accurate and timely manner according to industry standards and working practises
Read and understand the requirements recorded on the Job Card before commencing any repairs
Follow job instructions on the Job Card or from the Foreman (if unsure – discuss with the Foreman)
Endeavour to complete all tasks within specified timeframe and report to the Foreman any delays
At the start of your workday prepare all equipment and tools required for your daily activities and tasks
Read and understand instructions, measurements and specifications
Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair mechanical and electrical faults in passenger and light commercial vehicles
General service, maintenance and repairs of passenger and light commercial vehicles (petrol, diesel, hybrid and electrical)
Engine, transmission, suspension system, brake system, exhaust system, etc. repairs
Tyres remove/refit, balance, wheel alignments, etc.
Carry out interior, exterior and underbody vehicle stripping and re-assembly (when required)
On job completion sign off the Job Card, report to Foreman and ask for the next task
Carry out all tasks to correct specifications and within the appropriate time-frames
Maintain all tools and equipment in good working order
Always conduct a Quality Check of the finished job to ensure the repairs are of high quality
Immediately report sub-standard job quality to Foreman
On job completion report to Foreman and ask for the next task
Follow maintenance schedule and report any required repairs to Foreman
Assist in parts and vehicles pick-ups and deliveries (when required)
Ensure vehicles are tidily and neatly parked and organized in designated area
Keep your work area clean and tidy at all times
Actively contribute to daily workshop cleaning
Maintain a clean and safe environment for all workers
Continually expand knowledge of the role, relevant products and services, by reading all communications and information
Comply with Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times
Build and maintain cooperative working relationships with customers, colleagues, team leaders and managers.
Maintain a professional image through a high standard of appearance, behaviour and presentation
Attend team meetings and training sessions during or outside working hours
Follow and carry out all reasonable instructions from Workshop Foreman and/or Branch Manager

Experience, Skills and Qualifications

5+ years of continuous experience in service/maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing vehicles
Relevant Trade Qualification, preferably NZ (or the ability to prove competency and experience)
Clean and valid Full Driver Licence
Able to drive vehicles with automatic and manual transmission
Strong work ethics and quality workmanship
Strong commitment to Health and Safety guidelines
Good verbal and written command of English
High integrity and professionalism
