Responsibilities
? Surface Preparation:o Inspect vehicles for damage and prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, cleaning, and applying primers.o Repair minor dents, scratches, and imperfections on vehiclesurfaces.? Painting and Finishing:o Mix and match paint colors to achieve desired results.o Apply paint, lacquer, and other coatings using spray guns, brushes, and other tools.o Use techniques such as blending, clear coating, and polishing to ensure a smooth and uniform finish.? Quality Control:o Inspect completed work for defects and ensure that the finishmeets company and industry standards.o Perform touch-ups and corrections as necessary.? Equipment Maintenance:o Maintain and clean painting equipment and tools.
o Ensure the proper use and storage of paints, solvents, and other materials.? Safety and Compliance:o Adhere to safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.o Follow environmental regulations related to the disposal ofhazardous materials and emissions.? Customer Interaction:o Communicate with customers regarding their vehicle's refinishing needs and provide updates on the progress of their repairs or customization.? Record Keeping:o Document work performed, including materials used, time spent, and any issues encountered.
Requirements and Skills? NZQCF Level 4 qualification or higher, or at least five years of relevant experience.? Formal training or certification in automotive refinishing is a plus.? Must be fluent in waterborne technology.? Must be able to job estimate and manage workflows.? Must have own spray guns and respiratory gear (air-fed masks).? Can do minor repair work and disassemble and refit parts, an advantage.? Knowledge of paint application techniques and surface preparation methods.? Strong attention to detail and an eye for color and finish quality.? Ability to operate and maintain various refinishing tools and equipment.? Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
? Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry materials, and work invarious conditions.? Be willing to undergo random drug tests while employed.? Must have a current driver's licence.
This is a full-time permanent role, and the hourly pay rate is between $28 and $35, based on experience. The work hours are from 40 hours minimum to 60 hours maximum per week to be worked between Monday to Friday between 7am to 5 pm and may be required to work on weekends.
