The CompanyIf machinery automation and robotics projects interest you, this Auckland based material handling systems OEM could fit your niche. This is a company that designs and manufactures end of line automated bulk product handling systems for both local and offshore FMCG Manufacturer customer projects. Their primary customers are in the dairy, and food & beverage sectors, but they cover quite a variety of sectors. Examples of their customised solutions include automated and robotic product handling, palletizing/de-palletizing, conveying, packing, etc. for manufacturing plants or automated warehouse applications. The RoleBased in Auckland, you will join an Automation Team and be responsible for taking a project all the way through from an automation perspective. This includes overlooking initial designs, writing the software for PLCs, HMIs, and robotics integration. You will take the project right through to on-site commissioning and client training and handover. You will need to be someone who can program PLCs and configure HMIs, and this company uses Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs/HMIs. Specific sector knowledge and robotic programming can be learnt on the job by someone with the right experience and aptitude, but obviously, if you have this experience, it would be a plus. The company uses ABB and Kawasaki robots.Travel:You need to be flexible to travel for commissioning trips locally or in Australia. These trips are a few days away right up to a maximum of 4 weeks away, with 2 weeks away being typical. While the number of trips per year will vary, 5 to 6 trips away is a good benchmark.Flexible Hours:Flexible start times to suit your lifestyle are on offer here, and if you want to mix it up a bit between work and home in the software coding and design phases of a project, that's okay too.Interesting Work:This is interesting work from an automation perspective, and you will be working with robots and large machinery with access to relatively new technology.Variety of Sites:You will get to go to various locations and large factories for projects, which should be interesting too.Role SnapshotIndustrial Automation Project Engineering including:Electrical/Automation Design and Specification for Material Handling solutionsAutomation Programming (PLC, HMI, Robotics)Site Installation and CommissioningProduction Troubleshooting and AnalysisCreation of Automation/Electrical Documentation e.g., user manuals and trainingOn-going Product SupportAreas of Expertise/Skills RequiredDegree Qualified in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or similar with relevant industry experiencePLC Programming (Rockwell and Siemens) and communication protocolsHMI Design and Configuration (90% Allen Bradley and 10% Siemens)Robot Programming (ABB Robot Studio) can be learnt on the jobCan troubleshoot control systemsMicrosoft Office SavvyCan write Project DocumentationAn eye for detail and producing quality workExperience with AutoCAD would be helpful but not essentialThis Automation Engineering role would suit someone that thrives off working in a technically challenging role and who already has Automation Engineering experience.
