Position: Authentic Chinese Chef Location: Auckland City, New Zealand Type: Full-time, rostered shift work
This position is at a renowned 5-star luxury hotel known for its exceptional service, elegant ambiance, and world-class dining experiences. Our client takes pride in offering their guests an authentic taste of global cuisines and have a specialised chef per cuisine.
Responsibilities: As our Authentic Chinese Chef, you'll be at the heart of this culinary team. Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing and Cooking: Craft authentic Chinese dishes that showcase the rich flavors, textures, and traditions of regional Chinese cuisine.Section Management: Run kitchen sections efficiently, maintaining high standards even during peak hours.Portion Control: Standardize dish portions based on weight and cost considerations.Menu Development and creative Direction: Take charge of the Chinese section of the menu – create new seasonal dishes and plan exciting weekly specials. To thrive in this role, you should have: Skills: Proficiency in Chinese cooking practices, food safety, and hygiene procedures - understanding of HACCPExperience:At least 2 years of culinary experienceChinese background or heritage, and/or a knowledge of authentic dishesPassion: A genuine love for Chinese cuisine and a desire to create memorable dining experiences.Why Join Us?
