We are looking for an experienced External Auditor to join our Assurance team in Napier - the vibrant Te Matau-a-Maui /Hawkes Bay city known for its Art Deco architecture and stunning landscapes. As part of our East Coast Assurance team, you will work closely with colleagues in our Christchurch office on various external audit engagements, ultimately helping build trust in society.
This is a full-time opportunity, minimum 37.5 hours per week. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Leading audits or acting as the 'audit in charge' on client engagements across a variety of industries, such as manufacturing, agriculture, Maori business and funds.
Supervising and coaching junior staff members, providing guidance on audit methodology and best practices.
Becoming an integral part of building the public's trust and confidence in our clients by delivering high quality audits of financial statements.
Collaborating directly with clients and teams, understanding their needs, testing internal controls, and substantiating financial information.
Utilising cutting-edge technology to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of external audit work.

This is an excellent opportunity to build on your existing external audit experience which will ideally come from a globally known professional services firm. We are looking for an experienced external auditor who can bring the following competencies and experience to the role:
To be successful in these roles, you should possess the following skills and experience:
For Manager level:
Several years of work experience as an external auditor, preferably in a managerial role.
Membership in relevant professional accounting bodies, such as CAANZ, CPA, ACCA, or ICAEW.
Proven experience leading audit engagements and supervising junior staff members.
Familiarity with globally recognized financial reporting standards, including IFRS.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
For Senior Associate level:
At least 3 years of work experience as an external auditor, preferably in a Big Four firm.
CA qualified or on your way towards full qualification.
Experience acting as an 'audit in charge' on external audits and coaching junior staff members.
Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) on audit engagements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
