The Audit Manager will be responsible for Unity's internal audit programme, overseeing the audit process, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing valuable insights to improve our operations. Key Responsibilities will include -Monitor and recommend amendments to the Audit and Risk Committee ("ARC") on an ongoing basis, making enhancements or changes to reflect changing risks, priorities, findings and other relevant factors.Work with other audit team members to execute the internal audit programme, including completion of internal audits and monitoring implementation of recommendations.Provide leadership, guidance and training to other internal audit staff as required in the execution of the audit programme.Regular reporting to the ARC and liaison with the Head of Risk and Compliance as appropriate, highlighting and drawing awareness of any relevant problem areas or shortcomings discovered as well as management responses.Maintain proactive communication with the external auditors as appropriate including liaising and providing support as required.Providing expert advice on controls implementation and financial risk mitigation to establish a consistent approach across the business.Who we are looking for:This is a part time position (20-25 hours per week) so could suit an experienced audit manager looking to reduce their current hours and enhance their work/life balance; or an audit manager looking to best juggle work and family commitments. In addition to being a team player and someone willing to go the extra mile, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate -Member of CAANZ and / or IIANZ or similar professional bodyPrevious experience leading internal audit programmes and carrying out internal audit activity, ideally in a financial organisationProven knowledge of and experience in established auditing techniques.Strong leadership skills to engage and motivate staff.Familiarity with industry practice and professional standards and knowledge of legal requirements and controls.Excellent communication and influencing skills, both written and verbal and high levels of computer proficiency.Ideally our preferred candidate will be based in Hawke's Bay and candidates who either currently live in Hawke's Bay or can relocate will be preferred.
