As Associate Producer reporting to the Executive Producer Breakfast you will be responsible for contributing to the production of the Breakfast bulletin and stories for TVNZ News and Current Affairs.
The opportunity - Te turanga The responsibilities of this position include:
Checking all on-air content is technically fit for broadcast.Editing interview and story segments.Selecting and commissioning visual and graphic elements to be added into show segments, including graphics and live elements in the event of breaking news.Liaising and producing live interviews with international correspondents.Providing interview/story set ups daily for the show.Writing clear and concise information for the news ticker.Working with the line-up producer to manage the on-air broadcast of Breakfast (taking responsibility for key visual elements).Communicating show requirements with presenters, news traffic, producers, and reporters.Co-managing programme digital and social posts.Filling in for the line producer when required.Being prepared to refer up to EP Breakfast around programme changes and current issues which may have an impact on the show.Delivering quality, accurate, innovative, and well-produced stories on time, optimizing available resources in a cost-effective manner that keeps to budget.Maintaining flow of information about story developments and referring any legal, ethical, budgetary or potentially contentious issues to the programme Editor.To be successful in this role, we are looking for: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Strong attention to detail.Sound and fast decision-making skills.A Media or Journalism qualification preferred.Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.Good general knowledge across the industry, particularly local, national and international news and events.Good judgment and problem-solving skills.Focused, and performs well under pressure.Able to work with deadlines.Proactive, shows initiative.Demonstrates good judgement and common sense.Willingness to work rostered morning and late shifts as required.Apply Now - applications close on Wednesday 18th December.
