Our Litigation group is seeking an Associate to join the team in either Auckland or Wellington. This is a great career progression opportunity for you to work with some of New Zealand's leading IP litigators, within a successful and supportive team. In this newly created role, you will work with a broad range of clients to navigate the best path to enforce their IP rights and assist them in dealing with any challenge by third parties.You will have exceptional communication skills, with the ability to think commercially and critically when providing advice for clients. You will exhibit a strong commitment to your own professional development and expanding your IP expertise.The RoleTechnical· Prepares opposition, revocation and Court pleadings/evidence· Researches and prepares opinions· Provides general advice with regards to IP matters· Prepares and argues cases at IPONZ, IP Australia, or in Court· Participates in Court litigation, including briefing of witnesses· Prepares client correspondence and interacts with clientsFinancial· Meets financial targets – day book, WIP, debtors, billable and non-billable hoursLeadership· Proactively manages client relationships· Provides leadership and coaching to junior and assistant team membersMarketing & Business Development· Acts as an ambassador for the firm, with an appetite to drive business development and build the AJ Park profile and own professional network· Authors articles on relevant topics, attends and presents at relevant industry events where requiredWhat's in it for you?Being part of a dynamic and inclusive team, where you will gain excellent experience and structured career development.
