We have an exciting career opportunity for the right person to step into a leadership position with our firm. This role would assist the Directors in working with clients to support their business objectives and plan their next steps in life.This is a great pathway to become equity Director.For us, client engagement is key. Confidence in delivering a full range of business advisory services with excellent communication is essential. This role would suit those who understand the broader industry, and a desire to help clients navigate their threats, challenges and opportunities.As part of the management team, this position requires someone with strong technical knowledge along with proven leadership skills to develop and inspire the team.Our firm has a strong rural focus and expertise in several specialist areas. The person we are looking for would need to easily relate to farmers as well as business professionals and be committed to our ethos of 'making life easier' for our clients.Key TasksDemonstrate a proactive approach to engaging with clients and recognise opportunities to further support them.Deliver quality compliance work, technical support and advisory services.Ensure accurate compliance with reviewing abilities.Provide mentoring to the team and identify any development or training needs.Contribute to clients' future planning through strategic plans, succession, business plans and action lists.Contribute to the firm's culture, strategy, and quality improvements to policies and procedures.About YouThis role would be a great fit if you have the following attributes:Significant management experience in the accountancy profession with a keen desire to progress your career further.CAANZ or CPA membership.Public Practice Certificate.Demonstrate high-level technical skills and knowledge.Committed to developing client relationships and build rapport with the team, clients, and intermediaries.Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.Flexibility to adapt your working day to support colleagues and clients.Shows passion, optimism and commitment.Knowledge of the rural sector is desirable although not essential.Candidates must have permanent work rights to work in NZ.About UsMcKenzie + Co are a well-established chartered accounting firm based in the funky town of Oamaru.
