Korero mo te turanga - About the role
We are welcoming applications for Associate Clinical Nurse Manager (ACNM) who will be responsible for providing day to day clinical leadership and management of Ophthalmology, Ear Nose & Throat and Dental surgeries. Your goal will be providing caring, and best practice nursing services to our patients that puts them at the centre of everything we do.
The ACNM will promote excellence in clinical practice and ensure the provision of high-quality nursing care in line with the vision and values of Taranaki DHB Values.
This role provides clinical leadership for a number of Theatre Registered Nurses (RN), including but not limited to coaching, supervision, peer reviews and performance reviews.
The role also provides direct patient care within their speciality service but may at times be utilised in alternate specialty areas.
This role provides support to the Clinical Nurse Manager & Perioperative Manager.
Promote an effective practice environment, whilst maintaining excellent clinical coordination.
Provide optimum care utilising nursing knowledge and skills to patients in ophthalmology, ENT and dental surgeries within the Theatre suite.
To liaise with the relevant consultants to ensure planning, management and optimisation of theatre resource is achieved.
To provide clinical leadership for staff and assists staff with clinical coaching and supervision to enhance learning and development.
To support Taranaki DHB in achieving Key Performance Indicators, Health and Financial Targets.
Liaise with the Nurse Manager, Theatre and SSD Co-ordinator or Associate Clinical Nurse Manager's (ACNM) with any aspects of nursing, issues, risk management, equipment maintenance and patient safety.

Recent and extensive nursing experience in the operating theatre
Proven leadership and coaching skills
Strong interest in ophthalmic, dental and ENT surgeries.

Excellent interpersonal skills
Current Annual Practising Certificate
Be motivated to prioritise quality to your practice.
