Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity Ward M18 is a new 26 bed ward taking care of acute surgical patients.
In this new model of care our ward will consist of a surgical assessment and review area and short stay ward.
We require an ACNM to support staff and coordinate the flow of patients through these areas.We are looking for a dynamic, flexible nurse with excellent surgical nursing and assessment skills to be part of the management team for this new ward.
This is a unique opportunity to help set up a new area for the Hospital.
If you have excellent communication skills, are a team player and want a challenge, this could be the perfect position for you.Please note this position will involve working on a roster covering seven days a week and some afternoon duties.
Key responsibilities of the role:You will be required to demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills, provide education, and support the implementation of local and national initiatives.
You will need to have clinical coordination skills and enabling a safe practice environment.
You must have the ability to provide 'hands on' support and clinical leadership with the foresight to anticipate clinical needs, and you will be acutely aware of ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained Click here to view the position description.
Mo tatou Ratonga | About our ServiceThe Acute Surgical Assessment Unit, or M18 as we are known by, is a unique short stay surgical ward.
We have 16 inpatient acute surgical beds, we also have a 10 bedded surgical assessment unit assessing patients for emergency surgical admission.
Mou | About youTo be considered for this position you must:Required skills & experience: A current New Zealand annual practicing certificateHave a minimum of 5 years acute surgical nursing experienceBe prepared and able to support and guide junior nurses, as well as students within our Dedicated education unit (DEU)Demonstrate proven coordination skills and the ability to lead a teamDemonstrates highly effective communication and leadership skills to collaborate and communicate with members of the wider hospital staffIs committed to quality serviceDemonstrates experience in embracing change.Be in possession of a minimum Post Graduate Certificate in Advanced NursingHas PDRP at a proficient level or above In turn we you offer you a brand new ward with stunning views.
