Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.Te whiwhinga mahi| The OpportunityWe are seeking a Registered Nurse to fill the senior nursing leadership position of Associate Charge Nurse Manager in the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit here at Waikato Hospital. This is a 1.0FTE (80 hours per fortnight) permanent position where you will work Monday – Friday with two days per week coordinating in the clinical setting.Our PACU provides care to patients recovering from local, regional and general anaesthesia. This patient demographic requires comprehensive monitoring and highly skilled nurses to manage their care. PACU is a dynamic environment where the workload can be intense and unpredictable. Patients from all surgical specialities will enter PACU, and this makes it an ideal environment in which to learn and grow.The role of the Associate Charge Nurse Manager includes championing change processes, promoting staff and patient safety and advocating for the service within the department. You will also be responsible for recruiting and retaining team members alongside the CNM and other ACNM. You will work closely with, and under the direction of, the Charge Nurse Manager.We offer ongoing mentoring and support for professional development as well as management and leadership educational opportunities.We have a highly supportive team, committed to delivering quality care to patients in all stages of their anaesthetic and surgical procedure.Key responsibilities of the role:Manage systems, processes and resources that enable staff to meet the needs of patient/tangata whaiora in an efficient and effective mannerProvide clinical leadership for multi-disciplinary teamProvide professional leadership to the nursing team, developing nursing services and monitoring quality, including standards of practice and service standardsContribute to the achievement of strategic direction for defined areasFoster a professional environment, effective communication and contribute to an environment of mutual respect.Minimum Requirements:A minimum of 5 years' recent experience in an acute care or critical care setting;The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and have excellent time management skills;Exhibit motivation and enthusiasm;Demonstrate strong leadership skills with highly developed interpersonal skills;Have a strong focus on quality;Working toward or have already obtained post-graduate qualification – post-graduate certificate minimum requirement.Working for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
