About the role
Reporting to the Charge Nurse Manager, and strongly supported by a tight-knit team, you'll foster a culture within the unit that continues to strive for excellence in clinical services and focuses on patient-centred care. Key accountabilities of this role include strategic leadership, staff education, development and recruitment, financial management, production planning, report writing, and quality & risk management.
Operationally, you will turn your hand to supervision, mentoring, and developing relationships through close liaison with other services, both internal and external.

About you
You must bring a clear focused vision; strive for contemporary practice, and be 'firm, but fair', with the ability to inspire staff, being their advocate when needed.
You'll be a senior registered nurse with significant nursing experience, possess a current NZ APC and relevant postgraduate qualifications, and your proven success in nursing leadership will be complemented by your knowledge of and experience in clinical quality, safety, and best practice.
Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings

Salary range
This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the expired NZNO Collective Agreement and the salary will be in accordance with the Designated Senior Nurse Scale, Grade 2 between Step 1 $116,040 and $127,674 p.a. dependent on relevant experience.
