The role/Te mahi
Tautiaki-Kaiawhina (Assistant Wardens) are key members of the College pastoral and welfare team. With a focus on wellbeing/oraka, they provide culturally appropriate opportunities for residents to experience cultural, sporting, academic and personal development in a positive college environment.
We are looking for a future leader who is resilient and capable of handling (sometimes) difficult and complex situations.
Our ideal candidate will have:
Experience working with young adults in a leadership capacity.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in emergency or crisis situations.
Experience engaging students and managing a variety of safe and fun student-focused events and activities.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to achieve a range of tasks under competing demands, within agreed timeframes.
Experience in the tertiary sector would be a distinct advantage.
This exciting role will suit people from varied backgrounds who are passionate about working with young adults. Candidates with cultural knowledge and appreciation of Tikanga Maori and/or knowledge of providing positive opportunities for Tauira Maori are especially welcome.
This is a permanent, full-time (1FTE), live out position, located in Dunedin.
The appointment range for this role is $65,281 to $69,648. Top of range $74,947.
