Assistant Vineyard Manager

McArthur Ridge Vineyard is a beautiful vineyard located in the Alexandra Basin of Central Otago. The vineyard has become well-known worldwide for its award-winning wines, most recently winning Best in Show at the Decanter Wine Awards 2024 for Pinot Noir.
We are looking for an Assistant Manager who will work alongside our Vineyard Manager and key staff to ensure the McArthur Ridge brand is further enhanced. Assisting in managing our operations, an ability to step in and take charge when required will be a requirement of this role.
Duties will include:Assisting and planning with viticultural tasks.Crop estimation and pest and disease monitoring.Plant and machinery operations.Involvement with group management.Frost fighting monitoring and operation.Improving innovation and assisting with developing new technology.Continue to develop skills and take sole charge when required.To Succeed in this role, you must have:3 – 5 years of experience.Appropriate tertiary qualifications.Experience operating a range of viticultural equipment would be an advantage.Ability to manage people and personalities.Ability to work to set timeframes.Be a team player.Experience with office programs such as Excel and the willingness to adopt company apps.High standard of health and safety compliance.We will provide you with:The opportunity and support to grow your career.A competitive salary, and additional benefits.Applications close on the 22nd of September 2024.
