Assistant Store Manager - NEW WORLD AOKAUTERE Are you looking for a senior leadership role in a large New World that could provide you the opportunity to develop your career further as well as pathways to store ownership? We are looking for a person who can lead the store and develop an extensive team via a positive customer/team centric style. This role reports to the Owners. This is a small store and will be a hands-on role!

The key responsibilities are: Leading, coaching and supporting the management team where needed. This role will include buying for three key departments. Having an inventory focus and ensuring our store is meeting all key metrics. Ensuring the store's presentation expectations are being met. Being involved in manager goal setting to ensure required objectives are being met then supporting where needed. Working with some of the department management team to achieve the stores KPIs. Ensuring the stores compliance work is being undertaken as required. People management including wage and hours budgets, rostering, recruitment, training coordination, performance and disciplinary management where required. Being the delegate in charge of the store when the Owners are away. The key qualifications and skills required are: A minimum of two years' experience in a management role leading large teams in a supermarket or retail environment, preferably within the Foodstuffs Group. An eye for detail and ability to guide the presentation of the complete store. Supermarket compliance knowledge including food safety and health & safety in a retail environment. Exceptional training and communication skills and have the ability to lead from the front. High level of IT systems and computer skills. SAP experience strongly preferred. Personal attributes required are: The ability to communicate successfully with a wide range of people including team members, Department Managers, Business Owners and external organisations. Excellent oral and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail. Strong financial and analytical skills. Outstanding planning and organising skills. Strong interpersonal and relationship skills. Team Player who will support and collaborate effectively. Excellent time management with the ability to multitask and prioritise is essential.
