This is a full time position in our Papanui store.In this role you will:Work with the Proprietor to set targets and to ensure the departments overall sales, gross profit and targets are reachedManage the department in the Proprietor's absenceAssist the Proprietor to manage and develop employees through training, coaching and performance managementAssist the Proprietor to manage and implement promotions, events and advertisingGain full knowledge of all roles in the department and cover where requiredEnsure the operations and administration of the department is maintained – including credit claims, debtors, stock ordering, purchase orders, stock returns and moreWork a rotating roster which will include weekends & public holidays as required by the Business.
The skills and experience you'll need to bring with you include:Relevant consumer electronics retail management experience (at least 2 years)Proven sales ability in a solution-selling environmentProven sales coaching abilityRelevant business tertiary education qualifications  (preferable)Thorough knowledge of the products sold in the Computers departmentTechnically savvy with the ability to solve problems quicklyDemonstrated conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to think on your feetStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAmbitious and ConfidentNumeracy skills and ability to work out calculations such as gross profitAbility to read and understand sales reportsOutstanding customer service skillsComputer literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office applicationsKnowledge in NZ Law in relation to retail – Fair Trading Act / Consumer Guarantees ActMature outlook to be able to understand the needs and drivers of the Business.Fun, friendly, outgoing, down to earth, approachable and work well as a team member.Apply online if you feel this is the place to be!
