Assistant Operations Manager - PurchasingOriginally built in 1881, to provide accommodation to European settlers who came to bathe in the clear hot springs, Wairakei Resort now offers accommodation of 187 rooms, a 200-seated restaurant, and various sports facilities.
The resort has a newly renovated gym and squash court, and our 9-hole golf course will reopen in September for the summer season.As an Assistant Operations Manager – Purchasing, your prime function is to manage and monitor all purchasing activities by fulfilling the following responsibilities:Conducting monthly purchasing analysisMaintaining and continuously improving proceduresLiaising with suppliers and ensuring suitability of supplyManaging delivery, quality, and other expectations of all deliveriesProviding regular pricing reviews and attending to supplier negotiationsPreparing supplier contractsEvaluating and monitoring all terms and conditions of supplier contractsLeading product innovationEnsuring that all purchasing activity complies with national legislation and local regulationsAssisting in budget forecastingReporting on stock takesCreating a robust risk supply portfolioManaging the in-house warehousing and purchasing system (Furturelog)This position reports directly to the Account Management with a dotted line to our General Manager.
You will be familiar with purchasing and supply-chain management and be guest-centric with a down-to-earth personal touch, willing to learn every aspect of the business.
