THE ROLE: As the Assistant Operations Manager, you will be the right hand to the Operations Manager, ensuring smooth business operations across the board.
This role is pivotal in supporting the Senior Activities Supervisor, Customer Service Manager, Stargazing Manager and other frontline managers / supervisors, fostering a motivated and engaged team, and upholding our commitment to excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership: Act as a key leader, exemplifying Tekapo Springs' values and ensuring business continuity in the absence of the Operations Manager.
Support: Provide essential support to department managers & supervisors, helping with staff training, quality control, and operational consistency.
Customer Service: Mentor frontline staff, ensuring they deliver outstanding customer service and are empowered to handle diverse customer interactions.
Administration: Assist in managing rosters, budgeting, and expense accountability, while supporting broader business goals and strategic alignment.
Health & Safety: Champion health and safety practices, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: Hands on management style with strong leadership skills and a knack for inspiring others.
Excel, Microsoft Office and general IT skills would be of great advantage.
Experience with HR Administration & ensuring compliance with New Zealand legislation.
Experience managing performance & misconduct would be a great advantage in this role.
Excellent customer service and conflict resolution abilities.
Proven experience in training and mentoring staff.
A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
High level of professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm.
This role is full-time, 40 hours per week role based on-site at Tekapo Springs.
Ideally, you need to be living or willing to relocate to the area.
