Aosta & Little Aosta (part of Saffron Restaurants) in the beautiful little town of Arrowtown (18 Buckingham Street), are looking for two Assistant Managers to join our friendly and professional team and lead our team to new heights!
As an Assistant Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring excellent customer service standards are maintained at all times. This includes handling customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback effectively.
Part of your responsibilities will include hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising front-of-house staff members, conducting performance reviews, providing feedback, and identifying opportunities for training and development.
Other tasks will include:
Planning menus in consultation with Chefs.
Planning and organising special functions.
Arranging the purchasing and pricing of goods according to budget.
Maintaining records of stock levels and financial transactions.
Ensuring dining facilities comply with health regulations and are clean, functional and of suitable appearance.
Conferring with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals and service.
Selecting, training and supervising waiting and kitchen staff.
May take reservations, greet guests and assist in taking orders.

Our restaurants are part of a group of 3 venues and are under the direction of Ben Bayly, who is Executive Chef. Ben is a great leader known for his excellence in the culinary world, ability to grow successful businesses, develop a fabulous culture and work ethics amongst the team.
Working in a small team serving Italian food with a kiwi twist and concentration on locally sourced and foraged food. We make our pasta by hand and forage around the rivers and hills around Arrowtown for herbs and salad ingredients, working closely with local gardeners to obtain the highest quality produce.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience as an Assistant Manager in a restaurant.
Proficiency in wine & cocktail knowledge.
Proven leadership capabilities, motivating and guiding the team to success.
LCQ, Duty Manager Certificate beneficial.
Full Time position with a minimum of 30 hours per week guaranteed.
Hourly Pay or Salary.
Share in very high TIPS each week.
Great place to live and work, close to the best wineries for Pinot Noir in Summer and close to Coronet Peak (20 mins) for skiing in Winter.
