Fairmont is part of Accor, a world leading hospitality group counting over 5,400 properties throughout more than 110 countries, and a participating brand in ALL - Accor Live Limitless – a lifestyle loyalty program providing access to a wide variety of rewards, services and experiences.Job DescriptionResponsibilitiesAssist the chief engineer in the day-to-day work and oversee the preventive maintenance of all equipment.Assume all the responsibilities and authority of the chief engineer in his absence.Conduct regular training classes for Engineers and Staff.Check all logbooks daily and take corrective measures accordingly.Keep Chief Engineer informed of all activities and incidents in the Engineering Department.Coordinate with outside agencies or vendors for repair and maintenance work.Check the quality of engineering goods procured by the organization.Obtain thorough knowledge of firefighting appliances.Represent the engineering department in HOD meetings during the absence of the Chief Engineer.Make decisions to ensure successful operation.Respond to emergencies in a timely manner.Effectively perform vendor management.Finalize quotations.Monitor and record utility consumption and assist the Chief Engineer in maintaining efficiency.Maintain history cards for all plant equipment.Provide supervision and leadership to colleagues within the Technical Services Department.Coordinate daily activities of the technical services department in the area of responsibility.Advise on the duty roster for the area of responsibility.Possess good knowledge of Capex and Opex items.Prepare reports, maintain inventories, and keep accurate records, order equipment and supplies.Ensure correct maintenance of all equipment in conjunction with other user departments.Stay abreast of technological advances in surveillance and safety of equipment.Ensure that operational problems are promptly brought to the attention of the Technical Supervisor.Regularly inspect the working condition of equipment and engineering systems to ensure all standards are maintained.Perform any other job duties assigned by management as required.PrerequisitesGeneral knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Kitchen, and other trades.Proficient in Windows, PMS, and MS Office applications.Good knowledge of fire and life safety processes and procedures.Excellent command of the English language (oral and written).Strong knowledge of mechanical or electrical services.Able to train, coach, and develop team members.Main Complexity/Critical issues in the JobBe proficient and efficient in all aspects of area of expertise, and adopt a proactive approach to problem-solving.This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, effort, or working conditions associated with the position.
