About the role
Responsible for assisting the Maintenance Manager with day-to-day operations of the Maintenance Department over both Rydges and QT Queenstown. All duties apply to the entire property (interior and exterior) as well as associated buildings that might affect the operations of the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
Take direction from the Maintenance Manager & General Manager as well as maintaining a proactive approach.
Direct, co-ordinate and perform routine, preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance in a timely, cost effective, and efficient manner for the entire property.
Respond to and carry out all inter departmental or guest requests concerning defects, repairs and / or general assistance in a timely manner, according to priority. When defects or repairs are outside your capabilities, communicate this to the Maintenance Manager in a timely manner.
Preventative duties may include, but are not limited to paint touch ups, checking card reader batteries, cleaning air con filters, ensuring that electrical appliances are in working order and safe to use, checking alarm systems are working correctly, testing fire dampers etc.
Have an understanding of BWOF (Building Warrant of Fitness) and Compliance Requirements, ensuring that all possible measures are taken to maintain this.
Develop and enforce procedures, guidelines and training resources to ensure equipment is used and maintained correctly by all team members.
You must be physically fit, have a get-up-and-go attitude.
Be someone who won't stop until the job is completed in a safe and presentable manner.
In this role, weekend work will be required on a five day roster.
