Exciting changes mean that we have a vacancy for a part-time Assistant Librarian to enhance services at our Mangawhai Branch Library - Whare Pukapuka o Mangawhai.
Our community library is now a council-operated branch, with extended hours and services.
Don't miss your chance to join our dynamic, energetic and high-achieving organisation!Supportive team culture, excellent leadership and a range of well-being initiatives.Part-time role: Up to 20 hours per week, including Saturdays.About the opportunity Your role will involve assisting patrons with digital literacy, helping someone find their next great read or discover a world of opportunity through our Tutu collection, assisting with holiday programmes or events, and much more.
Whether you're interacting with customers in person, through email, or over the phone, you will deliver a welcoming and efficient frontline customer service that leaves a lasting impression.
For this role, rostered Saturday availability is essential.
About you We are looking for applicants who love books and reading, demonstrate a strong commitment to providing excellent service, and can easily connect with people from all walks of life.
You will have an ability to handle all types of information requests and situations and be very confident around computers.
1-2 years' experience in a library or customer service environment, as well as a library qualification or equivalent experience, would be advantageous.
