This position supports the Head of School in maintaining high-quality programmes, managing resources, and achieving performance goals. It involves team leadership, staff development, and fostering industry partnerships for student placements. The role also ensures alignment with institutional objectives through active participation in committees and meetings, driving EIT's mission forward.
The appointing salary for this role will be between $100,000 and $120,000, dependent on skills and experience.
The Assistant Head of School - Health and Sport Science, is based in our Faculty of Education, Humanities and Science | Te Pukenga reporting to the Head of School, Health and Sport Science and will be responsible for:
Support the Head of School: Assist with maintaining high-quality programmes, marketing, resource management, and achieving performance goals.
Team Leadership: Manage and develop staff, ensuring alignment with the programme's philosophies and objectives.
Industry Partnerships: Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders to secure student placements and professional networks.
Committee Participation: Actively engage in committees and meetings to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with institutional goals.
Teaching and Supervision: Provide teaching and supervision in relevant programmes as needed.

To be successful in this role you will have:
Relevant Qualifications and Experience: Master's degree or equivalent knowledge, with proven leadership and management experience, and expertise in curriculum and program development.
Cultural Competence: Understanding of cultural safety principles, commitment to student success parity, and appreciation of te reo me ona tikanga Maori.
Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to inspire and lead, strong communication, team building, planning, and organizational skills, and excellent relational skills with staff and students.
Networking Ability: Strong networking skills with public, private, voluntary, and iwi health and disability-related agencies.
Professional Attributes: High degree of professional judgment, personal initiative, commitment, and integrity.
