We are proud to offer a wide variety of roles across the Co-op, ensuring that no matter what business unit or stage of life you're in, there's a good chance we have something to suit.About us | Whakapa maiFonterra's Pahiatua Farms are located 5 minutes either side of the Pahiatua township and approximately 35 minutes from Palmerston North.Tui Farm is 170ha milking through a 30ASHB Once-A-Day.O'Brien Farm is 144ha milking through a 40ASHB with ACR's Once-A-Day.There is the potential to be based at either farm, depending on team fit with some crossover between the two farm teams.We also have a small 20ha support block where we rear our calves and winter our heifers.About the opportunity | Te We Wai waahiYou will be responsible for supporting the Farm Manager in the successful running of two farms that receive factory wastewater applications.
The farming systems are designed to sustainably operate alongside the wastewater operations and balance nutrient applications (from manufacturing operations) with good farming practices.
You'll also make sure that the farm adheres to a proactive and high standard approach to Health and Safety.A few key duties are:Operate the farms when the Farm Manager is off farm.Be responsible for the day to day running of the dairy farm with the support of the Farm Manager, including setting out weekly grazing.Be responsible for the clean and tidy running of a dairy shed.Support, encourage and manage fellow team members.Proactively deal with general farm maintenance, such as fencing, spraying etc.Safely and competently operate a range of farm machinery.Regularly check and maintain farm machinery & vehicles to a high standard.Ensure accurate animal health records are kept.About you | Moe koeYou will have at least five years farming experience and be comfortable undertaking a range of farming activities in a safe manner.
You'll be a self-starter with exceptional stock, pasture & people management skills and have already had proven experience working as an Assistant Farm Manager as well as managing a variety of stakeholders.Excellent attention to detail and a pride in workmanship.
A genuine passion for farming and a drive to succeed.
Extensive knowledge of mating and reproduction.
Take pride in the presentation of the farms, as well as have a good sense of humour.
