You'll be directing and processingpassengers, answering queries and supporting the wider team to protect New Zealand and NewZealanders. If you're passionate about providing exceptional customer service and interested inworking as part of a team in a fast paced, dynamic environment, this could be a greatopportunity for you.Hours of Work Assistant Customs Officers work in the early morning or late evening, either full-time or ona 4 hour part-time shift.Training and Development You'll attend a comprehensive two week course to introduce you to Customs and train you inthe following and more:Immigration theory and practiceThe Treaty of WaitangiOfficer Safety and Tactics (de-escalation of situations and self-defence)After successfully completing your training, you'll be assigned to a work area where you'llreceive coaching to cement your learning and have the opportunity to develop your skills.Salary and Allowances As a full-time Assistant Customs Officer you will receive a starting salary of approximately$49,192 and regular incremental increases as you gain experience in the role. You will alsoreceive four weeks' annual leave, three days' service holidays, overtime payments, anduniform laundering.
