Are you a passionate, self-motivated swim coach driven to inspire and develop young swimmers? The Wharenui Swim Club, one of New Zealand's oldest clubs with a legacy of high performance, is seeking expressions of interest for an enthusiastic Assistant Coach.Role Details:• Approximately 25 hours per week of swim coaching.• Work schedule includes afternoons, evenings, some mornings, and occasional travel to swim events.• This position has the potential to be full-time, depending on the candidate's ability to contribute to other core business areas of Wharenui Sports Centre.Coaching Requirements:• Minimum 2 years of coaching experience (including mentorship from a senior coach)• Current NZSCTA Bronze qualification, with a commitment to achieve Silver in 2025• Current First Aid certificate• Pool Lifeguard qualification (preferred but not essential)• Availability to coach at Wharenui Sports Centre during scheduled times:o Monday to Friday: 3:30 pm - 7:00 pmo Tuesday and Thursday: 5:30 am - 7:00 amo Saturday: 7:00 am - 10:30 am• Ability to attend local, regional, and national swim meets• Reports to the Director of Coaching and General Manager and works collaboratively with the Committee to foster a positive team spirit within the club.Desired Attributes:• Strong team player• Creative and innovative in coaching methods, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in swimming• Friendly, approachable, and professional attitude• Reliable, self-motivated, and committed• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals of all ages and abilities, inspiring and motivating studentsIf this opportunity excites you, please send your cover letter and CV to ******: Applications close on Friday, December 6th, 2025.
