Assistant Accountant

A great opportunity has become available for an Assistant Accountant to join this great team on a 12-month fixed term maternity cover contract.
This is an interesting and varied Assistant Accountant role that will give you exposure our client's broader business.
Main responsibility will be assisting with the provision of quality financial information through following accounting policy and procedure, maintaining financial controls and creating efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities: Compile and analyse financial information.
Ensure financial records are current, maintained and in compliance.
Intercompany reconciliations and payments.
Prepare income statements and balance sheets.
Assist with the processing of bank statements as required and follow-up discrepancies.
General ledger account reconciliation, processing of monthly journals and accruals.
Maintaining company Fixed Asset register.
Processing and reconciliation of company credit cards.
Calculating monthly sales commissions.
Various ad hoc tasks to assist Financial Accountant and Management team.
About you You excel in a fast-paced, process-driven environment, demonstrating exceptional communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
Ideally, you possess a tertiary accounting degree, though this is not essential.
You have experience managing a similar accounting role and possess strong Microsoft Office skills, including proficiency in using spreadsheets and data analysis.
