Assistant Accountant

Assistant Accountant - Whangarei
About the role:
As the Assistant Accountant, you will report to our Accountant and ensure that key financial tasks are met, which support the wider business. We can look at a 6 - 12 month contract as well.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
General ledger reconciliations
Assisting with preparation of monthly accounts
Checking of weekly payroll
Checking of weekly and monthly Accounts Payable
Complete FBT & GST returns
Bank reconciliations
Performance Bond forms
Support with additional analysis
Assistance with Accounts Receivable
About you:
At least 5 years experience in a similar senior administrative role, ideally within the construction industry
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred, but not a requirement
Understanding of basic financial, accounting, and the month end reporting cycle
Experience with payroll and knowledge of current legislation is preferred
The ability to produce accurate financial reports
Excellent time management and attention to detail with a think outside the box attitude
A pre-employment medical, which includes a drug and alcohol test, will be required for the chosen candidate.
