About the role:
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Accountant to join our small, supportive team. Reporting directly to our Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring key financial tasks are completed to support our wider business operations. This is a permanent, full-time position (Monday to Friday).
Key Responsibilities:
Perform general ledger reconciliations
Assisting in the preparation of monthly accounts
Verify weekly payroll
Review weekly and monthly Accounts Payable
Complete FBT & GST returns
Conduct bank reconciliations
Handle Performance Bond forms
Provide support with financial analysis
Assist with Accounts Receivable
About you:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar senior administrative role, preferably within the construction industry
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is preferred, but not essential
Strong understanding of basic financial principles, accounting, and the month-end reporting cycle
Experience with payroll and knowledge of current legislation is preferred
Proven ability to produce accurate financial reports
Excellent time management skills and attention to detail, with a creative problem-solving mindset
