Assistant Accountant

The Opportunity
Due to the continued operations growth, the finance team is looking to hire a motivated Assistant Accountant to support their expanding needs. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain broad exposure across various tasks including month-end accounting, which will support more complex accounts payable queries. You'll develop valuable skills in commercial accounting whilst benefiting from a dynamic work environment, this role will equip you with the experience and knowledge to advance your career!

The Role
Assistance with the preparation and coordination of month-end management accounts
Processing of journals
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
Tax compliance activities – GST returns
Maintain daily cash flow requirements including foreign currency.
Support finance team members to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information.
Participate in the 6-monthly audit (Half year audit and End of Year audit)
Assist with Accounts Payable where required
Any other duties that we reasonably require you to do.

Your Profile
2 years of accounts experience in New Zealand
Proficiency in Excel, and ideally an ERP
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Be based in Christchurch for an interview
Full, existing unrestricted working rights for New Zealand.
