About the role As an Assistant Accountant, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the organisation. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all transactional accounting and administration tasks are completed accurately and on time. You'll assist in various financial processes such as month-end procedures, preparing profit and loss account sheets, record keeping, project accounting, and reporting. You'll gain exposure to wider group projects and will be involved in continuous improvement and process efficiency. You'll focus on these key duties: Prepare monthly management reporting. Assist in budgeting, reforecasts, and variance reporting. Assist with the preparation of Statutory Financial reporting and liaising with external auditors during the year-end audit. Prepare cash reports and forecasts. Preparation of GST and FBT returns. Analyse margins and report findings. Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations. Build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Review and recommend improvements to processes and control procedures. Support the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. So, Who Are You & What Is Your Profile? Confident working with data, you'll be systems savvy (Greentree would be super cool but not essential), have a good working knowledge of Excel, and will have exceptional communication skills with a customer focus. You'll exude positivity and will constantly be striving to learn and develop in our fast-paced and challenging environment. With 3 years of work experience in a similar role, your understanding of key accounting will make your transition seamless. Eager to learn, develop and challenge the status quo, you'll thrive in a team that ensures adherence and provides continuous improvement to robust financial policies, procedures, and controls, ensuring the business makes smart decisions based on accurate financials. You'll have a degree in accounting, finance, or commerce, and the skills and experience required to work with inputting data into various software systems. You'll be an organised and experienced accounts person who can get things done in a timely fashion, as deadlines are what we do!
