We are looking for an Asset Technician (bias Mechanical) to join our Maintenance team.Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the primary function of the Asset Technician's role is to ensure that safe and cost-effective maintenance practices are being performed to ensure that the fuel terminal and pipeline electrical assets are available to operations. Achieved through good engineering practices and timely maintenance of the instrument & electrical or mechanical plant and equipment.Ensure plant and equipment meet regulatory requirements including those for Major Hazard Facilities (MHF's).The Asset Technician roles are inclusive maintenance roles that are based on the individuals' competencies, experiences, and training.Some of what will you be doing…Depending on your competencies you will:Provide trouble shooting support to Operations and resolve technical issues.Support and maintain mechanical or electrical or instruments equipment and systems arranging assistance from specialist contract services where required.Perform scheduled mechanical or instrument & electrical testing and inspections.Ensure that the maintenance strategies will focus more on supporting Operations in preventative, predictive and planned maintenance so that breakdowns are reduced.Provide RAP callout support during the normal working daytime. Overtime may be required.Maintain, and update maintenance programs in these areas, including testing and verification of standards compliance.What will you bring?QualificationsTrade Certificate or preferred Advanced Trade Certificate qualifications in Mechanical Engineering with a knowledge of Instrumentation and Electrical.Minimum 5 years related oil & gas industry, terminal & pipeline experience is preferred.Strong fundamental knowledge mechanical equipment and its maintenance practices.Experience with general industrial mechanical equipment and knowledge of instrument & electrical systems an advantage.Basic IT skills.Strong working knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance and requirements within Hazardous Areas.Knowledge and use of CMMS systems (MEX)Demonstrated ability to efficiently maintain engineering documentation.Apply critical thinking, with exceptional problem-solving skills.Proactive, resourceful and highly motivated.Able to balance multiple projects.A little about usWe are an NZX50 listed infrastructure business with a vision to be a world-class energy infrastructure company.
