To prepare for this growth, and to welcome more residents to our district, we have over $130 million worth of water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure projects to deliver over the next 10 years, including new treatment plants, reservoirs and reticulation renewals - it's an exciting time to be part of Water Services at Waipa!About the RoleThe opportunity has arisen for a newly created role of Asset Management Team Leader to join our Water Services business unit.
The Asset Management Team Leader's role is to lead Waipa District Council's Asset Management Team to maintain and improve our asset data and asset performance understanding in order to deliver high quality, fit for purpose infrastructure plans and renewals programmes, and successfully manage new connections to our network.
In order to achieve those objectives, the successful candidate will need to work closely with our Waters Strategic Lead & Programme Manager, aligning our asset management approach to our overall strategic direction, and with the operations team leader to best integrate and support operational experience and maintenance activities.
Additionally, they should have the ability to support and mentor others within the asset team to grow their technical and leadership skills.Here at Waipa, we have a strong commitment to investing in our people's growth and development, including our in-house leadership development programme; giving leaders the tools to competently and confidently drive team success the Waipa way.About YouOur successful candidate will have an engineering or technical qualification plus a minimum of ten years' experience in Engineering, Planning or other relevant field, with at least 5 years' experience leading a team in a senior role.
