You will collaborate with Regional Operations and the Asset Management Directorate to ensure effective planning, communication, and quality assurance in asset management. Your leadership will foster an inclusive culture, support team development, and promote strong relationships with iwi and other stakeholders.If you have some of the following, we are keen to hear from you:Proven experience in leading and managing high-performing teams, including the ability to lead dispersed staff and staff working in the backcountry.Familiarity with the range of visitor assets managed by DOC and best practices in asset management.Strong understanding of health, safety, and wellbeing processes.Ability to review complex information, consider diverse perspectives, and make informed recommendations.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams, build trust, and foster strong relationships.Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on sharing information and supporting others.Proactive in seeking opportunities for improvement and understanding the wider organisational context.Knowledge of the Maori Crown relationship, tikanga, and contemporary Maori experiences, especially in relation to DOC.Experience and competence in the backcountry.Mo te tima | About the teamThe Asset Specialist team is a dynamic and responsive unit.
