We are currently seeking a Laboratory Analyst - ASBESTOS (mid level) to join our Christchurch team on a permanent full time basis.
The main focus of this role is to work in our laboratory operations, with a focus on maintaining our site's laboratory accreditations and participating in quality assurance improvements.Key Responsibilities Of This Position Will IncludeUndertake bulk identification, asbestos in soil analysis (both P/A and S/Q) and fibre counting in the laboratory.Ensure equipment and compliance systems are maintained in accordance with ISO standard.Adhere to the conditions of ISO17025:2018 at all times.Provide assistance with technical and quality tasks.Act as training mentor for internal staff.Participate in internal and third-party proficiency testing programs and ensure satisfactory results are achieved.Qualifications And ExperienceTertiary qualification in Science or equivalent qualification; or equivalent experience.Must have experience analysing asbestos materials - bulk, fibre counting and soil analysis.At least two year's laboratory experience; experience in a commercial laboratory will be an advantage.Attention to detail, and proficient computer skills are essential.Good knowledge of standard office applications, especially MS Word and MS Excel.Strong commitment to safety and a desire to continually learn and improve.QualificationsCandidates who have previously worked as Key Technical Persons (KTPs) for asbestos analytical methods will be highly regarded.Candidates who have qualifications/experience as asbestos consultants will be highly regarded.All candidate CVs and cover letters will be reviewed; however, please note that we are not always able to respond to every expression of interest submitted.This opportunity is only open to candidates who are eligible to work in Australia/New Zealand, and already have work rights or an appropriate working visa.
