Artistic Director - Auckland, New Zealand - Silo Theatre Trust Description
We are seeking a new Artistic Director to join Silo Theatre, a company approaching three decades of live theatre storytelling in Aotearoa. The successful applicant will have a strong vision for the future of Aotearoa live performing arts, an exceptional body of work as a theatre-maker, and a solid understanding of theatre producing. Key responsibilities include co-leading the company, creatively steering Silo Theatre's next chapter, and setting our programming approach in response to our new strategic vision (2026-2040).
As Artistic Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Silo Theatre's creative leadership. You will be responsible for:

Creatively steering Silo Theatre's next chapter
Setting our programming approach in response to our new strategic vision (2026-2040)
We are excited to receive applications from across the theatre sector, including directors, writers, performers, creative producers, programmers, and designers. Applications should propose new interpretations of what our company's creative leadership might look like. We are open to innovative ideas and approaches.
The successful applicant will have a strong network of artistic relationships and a solid understanding of theatre producing. They will also have a clear vision for the future of Aotearoa live performing arts.
The recruitment process will include:
A shortlist of successful applicants will be decided on by a panel including Silo's Executive Director, a Silo trustee, and two industry leaders
Shortlisted applicants will be asked to prepare a draft Silo programme of four live performance works (including key team members and collaborators) to present at their interview
The ideal start date for the incoming Artistic Director is late March 2025.
