Role overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced educator to join our team as a visual arts teacher with the opportunity to teach to their strengths and passions within the arts curriculum area.
Key responsibilities:
Provide learning opportunities for every child relative to his or her needs, abilities and stage of development.
Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing feedback and support to ensure academic success.
Deliver lessons in accordance with subject schemes of work, national education guidelines, school policies and the school.
Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
Qualifications and experience:
A relevant teaching qualification and current registration with the New Zealand Teaching Council.
Proven experience in teaching art at the secondary school level.
Culturally responsive experience and teaching philosophy who can create and contribute to the relational and pedagogical relationships across all levels of our school.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A passion for critical thinking and a commitment to fostering a love of learning in students.
