Reporting to the District Youth Manager, you will provide mentoring, development and people leadership to the Divisional and Assistant Divisional Managers within the Central Otago area.
A pivotal role in the Youth team, your well-honed organisational skills, and proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships will be critical in supporting the Divisions to deliver on the IBP and Youth Strategy objectives. As an Area Youth Manager, you will be provided with the opportunity to gain self-reward and develop both personally and professionally.
About the role:
Assist the District Youth Manager to meet the requirements of the Youth Business Plan
Support Divisions to develop and deliver high quality programmes in line with the national curriculum, ensuring the level of service delivered to youth and the community is consistent and of the highest quality
Promote the youth programme to increase youth and adult membership
Support and manage Divisional recruitment through events and completion of recruitment processes
Provide on-going support and mentoring to your Divisions
Conduct audits and inspections to ensure divisions are operating within their guidelines and St John policy
Organise and actively participate in District/Regional youth events and activities
St John's Youth Programme provides young people with the experience to gain confidence, empathy, life, health and leadership skills - offering a fantastic opportunity for them to experience new things and of course ... have fun! Some key requirements:
Prior experience in a leadership/management role developing others
A real team player with a keen interest in working with young people
An aptitude for working with a diverse demographic group e.g. age, culture, background
Prioritise your time/work load in order to meet deadlines
A proven ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships
Customer focussed with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Have a natural talent for thinking and working outside the square
Contribute a minimum of two hours per week to the role and attend overnight camps and competitions from time to time
