About the role
We are looking for an experienced technical sales engineer to join a team of ambitious and driven individuals in our team as an Area Sales Manager. Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, you will ensure revenue growth of products and services by identifying current and potential customer needs and opportunities to grow our business. This full-time permanent role varies between our Christchurch office and customer base in the local region.
Key responsibilities will include:
Management of a strategic portfolio of key accounts maximising sales by effectively planning, scheduling, and implementing an account strategy for each key account.
Development of new business opportunities in line with company sales and marketing objectives.
Responsibility for the development and implementation of specific tactical plans to achieve sales, marketing and product objectives targeted into the key account market segment.
Produce weekly and monthly sales reports based on customer activity within the region.
Provide detailed monthly forecasts and maintain a detailed and accurate database of the key accounts.
About You

Minimum of 5 years senior sales experience.
Strong relationship building and negotiation skills.
Proven track record of sales success and business development, with strong communication and organisation skills.
Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify customer needs and provide solutions.
An ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Experience in the Industrial / Engineering or Pump industry is an advantage.
Ability to work collaboratively with the team as well as operating autonomously, and motivated towards the achievement of individual and team goals.
A proactive and positive attitude with the ability to use your initiative.
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline will be highly regarded.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) together with CRM and ERP systems (AS400) knowledge.
A current Drivers Licence.
