About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Area Manager to join our team. In this business-critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the ECE centres within your area, ensuring they meet their occupancy, financial, and compliance targets. You will provide leadership, support, and development to Centre Managers, driving excellence in service delivery and fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Your Key Responsibilities will include:
Operational Planning: Be a high impact leader driving our vision and values. Develop and implement Operational Plans for each Centre, aligning regional strategic goals with Centre operations, and incorporating marketing requirements.
Compliance: Understand and adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, ensuring all Centres comply with Ministry of Education, Education Council, and Education Review Office (ERO) requirements. Drive ERO preparation and readiness to achieve a minimum three-year review cycle.
Performance Management: Be results driven - ensure centres achieve occupancy, wage to revenue, EBITDA, and Funding Band ratio targets.
Centre Manager Leadership, Development and Support: Recruit, induct, coach, develop, and manage Centre Managers. Use judgement and leadership to motivate and inspire Centre Managers, promoting a culture of positivity and success to strengthen staff engagement and retention, providing support and guidance to ensure quality educational outcomes are delivered.
Recruitment: Involvement in the Recruitment of Team Leaders/Senior Teachers, approving all appointments before offers are made.
Performance Reporting: Provide monthly performance reports to the Regional Manager, detailing Centre performance against KPIs.
Health & Safety: Assume responsibility for Health & Safety matters, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and providing a safe environment for children and staff.
Stakeholder Management: Address and resolve stakeholder complaints and concerns, ensuring Centre Managers understand and follow the correct processes.
What we're looking for in you:
You are a current Area Manager/Leader in ECE, ideally within large and complex environments.
You hold an ECE qualification.
You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
You demonstrate the ability to lead and motivate individuals and teams to deliver results.
You have strong time management skills, with the ability to assess and manage changing priorities.
You demonstrate sound business acumen, judgement and decision-making skills.
