ABOUT THE ROLE
This role will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance of vegetation control for our client, Transpower and others when needed. This will involve tree control using tree felling and assorted machinery, scrub clearing around structure bases, and access tracks, as well as spraying of vegetation when required.
As a trainee Arborist, you will be working with a qualified arborist where you get the opportunity to earn while you learn! This apprenticeship will be a mixture of on the ground/on the job learning as well as attending courses, all fully sponsored by Ventia.
ABOUT YOU
A willing attitude and a strong sense of reliability
Knowledge of horticulture and gardening experience is advantageous
Prepared to climb and use ropes
Experience working at height, such as window cleaning, is beneficial
Valid restricted driver's license
Team player with excellent communication skills
Attention to detail and commitment to safety
A passion for the industry and an eagerness to make a positive impact
Based in Islington, Christchurch
